CHOBWEDO: FROM THE STREETS OF SINGIDA TO PREMIER LEAGUE STARDOM AS RC MAKALLA HONORS HIM WITH A SPECIAL GIFT

TRA United star winger TRA United Ramadhani Salum, popularly known as Chobwedo, has continued to make headlines across Tanzania after receiving a special gift from the Regional Commissioner of Arusha, Amos Gabriel Makalla, who described him as one of the valuable assets of Tanzanian football due to his outstanding performances this season.
During an event held in Arusha on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, RC Makalla met with the talented winger, spoke with him personally, and later presented him with a pair of modern Nike football boots along with several other items as a sign of encouragement for his impressive progress.
The gesture has been warmly welcomed by football fans across the country, many seeing it as a strong message of support for young athletes who are working hard to achieve greatness.
Makalla, who is also a patron of TRA United, said he has been closely following the team’s progress as well as Chobwedo’s individual performances. He explained that the winger has shown exceptional quality in several major Tanzanian Premier League matches.
According to Makalla, Chobwedo stood out in games against Young Africans S.C., Simba SC, Pamba Jiji FC and Singida Black Stars — matches that demanded high levels of discipline, confidence and quality.
He added that Chobwedo possesses great talent, strong work ethic, determination and the ability to change a game at any moment, making him one of the most dependable players in the league today.
“If I call him an asset, then he truly is an asset. I have played football, I have coached football, and I know what I am saying. Chobwedo is a top player,” said Makalla.
That statement quickly attracted attention in football circles, with many agreeing that Chobwedo is among the fastest-rising stars in Tanzania.
Makalla also advised the player not to be distracted by negative comments on social media. He said every great player faces criticism, but success comes to those who remain focused and continue working hard.
He urged Chobwedo to keep learning, stay disciplined, respect coaches, leaders and supporters, and continue developing his career.
